This Saturday: Ride & Stride 2019 – 14th September
Each year cyclists, walkers, and horse-riders raise sponsor money for the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust by visiting as many of the churches and chapels of the county on a single day as they can.  The individual churches receive 50% of the money their riders and striders raise.  Last year I raised over £1000.  It’s not too late to take part in this year’s Ride and Stride by riding or striding yourself, or by being one of the team of welcomers who offer refreshments to the weary participants.  Please let me know if you are interested.

This Week & Next
I am on holiday from tomorrow, Monday 9th, to Friday 20th inclusive.  Monsignor and Fr Mat will say the Masses, hear Confessions etc, but for all sick calls and emergencies please call the Fathers of the Oratory on 01865 315800.

Reunion at St Joseph’s Primary School
This year St Joseph’s Primary School (now in Headley Way, but formerly in St Clements) is marking the school’s rich history and contribution of 150 years to Catholic education.  The present school community would like to welcome back past pupils, parents, staff, and members of local parishes to a celebration reunion at the school from 3.00 - 7.00 p.m. on Saturday 5th October, which will include a chance to visit the present-day school, chat over a cup of tea or coffee, and browse photos from the archives.

Last Week’s Collection: £609.38 – Thank You!

Whose work is this but His who said,
‘My Father is working still, and I am working’?
To show the world that He wished to convert it,
not by the wisdom of men, but by His own power,
He chose unlettered men to be preachers to the world;
and He has done the same thing now,
through weak men
graciously accomplishing great things
in the nation of the English.

Pope St Gregory the Great
